Preface from the Art Center This exhibition, “Biopsy–Colour Ink Art’s Social Clinic Discussion Room” is curated and applied for by Dr. Chen, who is himself an artist and creator. Dr. Chen is currently an assistant professor at Penghu University of Science and Technology and has done considerable research into the study of ink painting creation. He is also very passionate and proactive about the planning of education on modern artistry. He has demonstrated his ability as an exhibition curator to professionally negotiate and work within a team within this exhibition's curating and application stage. The six artists that Dr. Chen is featuring within this exhibition are all current professional artists of national acclaim and all brimming with creative potential. Hsiao, Hsi is one of the cornerstone artists of Nantou’s art scene, as well as being an artist of many skills; her works have spanned across the realms of both two- and three-dimensional art while showcasing abstract as well as realistic beauty. Chang, Rou-Chi had previously won the 2005 National Colour Ink Newcomer Award, as well as having received multiple invitations to exhibit both nationally and abroad. Her creative thoughts and artistic representation of life concerns are extremely profound. Hung, Yu-Hsi is currently the Head of Tao-yuan City’s Museum Research Collection and possesses skills cultivated from doctoral classes of colour ink theory. Her profound artistic background allows him to create art which explores life and cultural reflection as well delving into social issues. Huang, Yu-Pin and Shiu, Tzu-Kuan are both in possession of doctoral degrees in artistic theory as well as winning multiple top awards within the art world. They consistently showcase exquisite exhibitions in addition to producing stunning works one after another. Hung, Kuo-Wei has also received the baptization of doctoral education and has also won many top awards and frequently featuring in art exhibitions. His works depict the beauty of colour through the many layers of his creative ideas. The joint exhibition, “Biopsy–Colour Ink Art’s Social Clinic Discussion Room”, allowed applications from external artists and is National Chin-Yi University of Technology Art Center’s second set of exhibitions that have passed the committee’s deliberation. The six professional artists have created works that fuse together aspects of two-dimensional as well as three-dimensional installation art, overall displaying diverse connotations and artistic styles. This can provide new opportunities for students, teachers, and people outside the school to appreciate art from a new angle. Wishing this exhibition smooth running and great success.
