Preface from Art Center

The Art Center of National Chin-Yi University of Technology (NCUT) invites renowned artists from home and abroad to participate in its exhibitions. Since its establishment in May 2019, the Center has held a variety of exhibitions covering both Chinese and Western media, such as sculpture, oil painting, watercolor, ink painting, lacquer, calligraphy, and installation art. The artistic inspiration of each exhibition not only benefits the students and teachers of the school, but also attracts many individuals and groups from society to appreciate the art in the Art Center. Especially after the incumbent president, Dr. Wen-Yuan Chen, has been actively expanding internationalization and rapidly raising the university’s international ranking, representatives of the academic and cultural communities in Europe and Asia have frequently come to visit the university's art center to admire and appreciate the artworks.

    In 2023, National Chin-Yi University of Technology (NCUT) has been ranked among the top universities in Asia by QS Asia University Ranking, and has even been ranked as the third best university in the field of technological universities in Taiwan. However, President Wen-Yuan Chen believes that the nature of science and technology education should not be limited to cultivating the young generation's skills to earn a living, but rather, it should go a step further to nourish the humanistic qualities of the arts and culture of the university students. Therefore, the Art Center of National Cheng-Yi University of Technology accompanied President Chen to Nantou more than a year ago, and kindly invited three master painters who are highly regarded in art theory and creation, and are well known both at home and abroad, namely, Li Gumo, Cai You, and Yao Shufen, to come to the Art Center of National Cheng-Yi University to exhibit their works.

    We are grateful for their generous acceptance and for providing us with a number of unique private works for joint exhibition at this time. It is hoped that the exquisite works of art presented in“Each Turn on the Road Reveals a Part of Bright Sky: Joint Exhibition of Lee Ku-Mo, Tsai You, and Yao Shu-Fen” exhibition will not only fulfill the university's social responsibility by joining hands with the university to provide art lovers from all walks of life outside of the university to share a feast of exquisite aesthetics, but also further nurture the aesthetic ability and humanistic qualities of the teachers and students of the university.
