Preface from Art Center
The Art Center of National Chin-Yi University of Technology was established by the current president Dr. Wen,Yuan-Chen in 2018. The first exhibition took place in May 2019, and since that, the center has held more than 20 professional art exhibitions. All works displayed were admired not only by the faculties and students but also art lovers from everywhere. Especially after President Wen,Yuan-Chen began the program for students’ self-cultivation in art in 2023, more and more students at Chin-Yi grow from feeling unfamiliar with and just curious about art to knowing how to appreciate artwork. Therefore, through every exhibition at the Art Center, we endeavor to present various excellent pieces to all students for their enhancement in cultural sensitivity and aesthetics knowledge. With our expectation of offering good aesthetics education to our new generation, this exhibition “Being Art Together with Seven Artists” includes 7 artists and art professors whose works have been displayed in many domestic and foreign exhibitions. Jiun, Jun-Huey’s oil paintings show special artistic aura and vitality. Simultaneously, being an art professor at a university, she reveals her concern for aesthetics education and her life philosophy stemming from art. Li, Ming-Xian holds aspirations distinct from other people’s, and thus gains his peculiar life experience. All contribute to his art creation. Both his sculptures and oil paintings silently yet obviously reveal his striving in life and innermost belief. Chiang, Chih-Cheng’s oil paintings constitute a unique style through building a multi-dimensional world in surrealism. His recent works sincerely illustrate his care for people and society as well as his attachment to his hometown. Wei, Yen-Shun’s works combine different materials, such as metals, ceramics, lacquer, etc., to create the beauty via space and shapes, demonstrating the elegance of tranquility. Wu, Chun-Chi’s realistic oil paintings illustrate his interaction with nature. The scenes in his paintings represent a refined kind of quiet aura and delicate beauty. Chang, Sen-Yang said his own works belong to expressionism of post-structuralist aesthetics. His lacquer artwork with geometric alternation fully demonstrates his aesthetic belief in the compatibility between time and space. Lin, Tsen-Wei’s use of colors in his oil paintings represents the aesthetic profundity in tranquility. His works show the image of walking into the city from the quiet countryside and lead the viewers to feel birds flying and the sun setting in the bustling city. We hope to give an artistic banquet covering a variety of artwork to our faculties and students and the residents around via this joint exhibition.
